The Role

Due to continued growth and the expansion of its global offering, we are looking for an accomplished and forward-thinking Events Director to oversee our events portfolio. This is a key leadership position that requires a strategic leader with proven expertise in event management who can deliver outstanding experiences for our member organisations.

The Events Director will drive the planning, execution, and ongoing enhancement of large-scale events and related programmes. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on project delivery, requiring close collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and sponsors to ensure operational excellence, strong stakeholder engagement, and exceptional Member value. You will lead a team including two Senior Event Managers and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Key responsibilities for the Events Director include:

• Event Strategy & Delivery: Designing and executing impactful, informative, and engaging annual congresses and chapter meetings tailored to audience needs.
• Operational Oversight: Managing budgets, timelines, and resources effectively, overseeing supplier selection, contract negotiation, and ensuring compliance.
• Programme Development: Expertise in speaker acquisition, including researching and securing keynote speakers.
• The Events Director position offers the opportunity to own the full strategic and operational delivery of the events portfolio.

The Candidate

You are a strategic leader with a proven track record in managing multi-disciplinary teams and delivering high-profile global events. You excel at building strong relationships and translating delegate needs into exceptional event experiences.

Key requirements include:

• Event Delivery: Proven ability to deliver large-scale, in-person events for 800+ delegates and expertise in managing and executing online and hybrid events to a high standard.
• Skills: Strong stakeholder relationship management, advanced problem-solving capabilities, and demonstrated innovation and creativity in event design and delivery.
• Project & Financial Management: Proven ability to manage end-to-end projects and programmes, including detailed planning, financial oversight, risk management, and sponsor relationship management.
• Technical & Digital Delivery: Expertise in defining and managing production requirements (AV, livestream, IT) and implementing event registration systems, mobile apps, and associated software solutions.
• Background in information security or cyber security is desirable.
