Working across mass participation and entertainment events this is a senior leadership role within one of the UK's largest and most high profile charities.

THE CHARITY

This inspiring, established and high profile charity have long had a reputation for running innovative, large scale and televised fundraising campaigns on a global scale. With a solid commitment to changing and improving people lives they have enjoyed tremendous success to date, with large scale mass participation and entertainment events central to their fundraising and awareness raising strategy.

Whilst keen to broaden their flagship events they are now looking for an Executive Director of Events to build on current successes, developing new and inspiring events (with a strong digital focus) to engage a younger and broader fundraiser profile.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a public events background to bring their experience to a new and exciting role within one of the best know charities in the UK.

THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the CEO and working as part of an executive team you will be responsible for identifying and delivering the strategic direction of all events and new business, and will be key to driving the organisation's strategic plan with an ultimate goal of achieving year on year annual income growth aligned with the companies purpose. A critical role responsibilities include:

  • Increasing audience engagement, supporter activity and partner collaboration

  • Driving change to and developing ways to target a younger and more diverse audience and engage them with the charity

  • Being responsible for growing their two main events and engaging a wider market and higher revenue for these

  • Driving innovation and launching new enterprises that are scalable and sustainable

  • Ensuring the commercial viability of events

  • Working closely with internal teams including brand and creative teams

  • Working with the Executive team to ensure the sustainability of television events

  • Leading a senior team in addition to managing and motivating freelancers and consultants in the lead up to events

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will have a proven background in developing innovative and engaging public events, with particular knowledge in how to maximise audience engagement through digital platforms. Candidates must have exceptional relationship building skills coupled with a strong background in leading event and new business ventures. Experience of operating at a senior level and working collaboratively with internal departments and external partnerships is essential. Any exposure to mass participation or sporting events as well as working with brands to engage with audiences would be an added benefit. Due to the creativity of the role and an entrepreneurial flair coupled with commercial awareness will be the key to success
