THE CLIENT
Our client is an established not for profit membership organisation who are industry experts in their field. Whilst classed as a research organisation and charity, the business is run very much as a corporate entity and has over 1,000 corporate members across 40 countries. Priding themselves on offering informative and market leading events they have a broad events programme including trade briefings, training events, networking events and conferences for up to 2,000pax.

THE ROLE
They are now looking for an experienced Head of Events to come on board for 10 months to take ownership of the delivery of a number of their high profile events, as well as ensuring efficiencies across the team. A broad role responsibilities include:
Overseeing the delivery of a number of events including taking the lead on larger more complex events
Overseeing (and managing if necessary) all areas of event delivery including speaker management, AV requirements, venue sourcing and delegate registration)
Resource management
Ensuring operational processes and best practice across the team
Supplier and contract management and negotiation
Working closely with internal teams including marketing, research and PR as well as external organisations
Stakeholder management and communication
Post event management including reporting on recommendations for future events
Line management and development of a number of direct reports
Budget management and reconciliation including preparing forecasts
Onsite management
THE CANDIDATE
Candidates must have a proven background in delivering large scale events from end to end including full logistics and budget management. Exposure to delivering complex conferences for numbers excess of 500pax is preferred and any exposure to working on events within the retail or FMCG sectors would be an added benefit but is not essential for the role. Candidates should ideally have had exposure to working for a corporate organisation and candidates must have a proven background in stakeholder management. Candidates must be used to operating at a senior level with expert skills in negotiation, communication and financial management. Experience of line management would be a huge advantage.
