Great opportunity take on a pivotal role working for an excellent events company who organise some of the largest mass participation sporting events in the UK!

THE COMPANY

A small company but by no means small events, this events company organise large scale public sporting events around the UK. With a creative and collaborative team they have been established for over a decade and cover all elements from initial concept development through to onsite execution of events!

This is a great opportunity to join an experienced team where you will get the opportunity to take the lead on the creation, production and delivery of some huge and unique events, which are both engaging and well executed.

THE ROLE

This is an extremely varied role with the responsibility of ensuring events run smoothly from an operational perspective from concept through to delivery. With three large events each year, which is due to increase in the near future, you will be kept busy and engaged with support from specialists when necessary.

Overall responsibility for the creation, management and delivery of a portfolio of events
Management of the production team and wider freelance resource
Participating in pre event briefing involving various internal teams and stakeholders
Strategic planning and delivery of all events
Overseeing event delivery including workforce, health and safety, contractor management, scheduling and general operational aspects of the event
Suggesting and implementing environmental and operational improvements for future events
Managing budgets and promoting cost effective solutions
Onsite management of staff and volunteers


THE CANDIDATE

This role will suit a candidate with previous experience in the operational running of large scale public events. Experience in mass participation or sporting events would be highly beneficial, but other event backgrounds will be considered. Strong communication skills are essential and the ability to input suggestions for improvements is key. Previous line management experience is ideal, as well as experience of managing large operational teams onsite.
