THE ROLE
Due to the volume and demand of upcoming events they are now looking for a Speaker Manager to come on board and support with the delivery of 2 of their largest international events. As a 21 month contract you will be focusing on the management of up to 500 speakers per event. Responsibilities are broad and include:
Liaison and management of high profile speakers, including being their main point of contact both pre-event and onsite
Acting as the main point of contact for committees and co-ordinating sessions
Ensuring communication with the committees and speakers
Managing abstract submissions and the selection of speakers from the Call for Abstracts
Organising the delivery of logistical requirements for speakers across multiple sessions throughout the conferences
Liaising with internal teams including ensuring room and AV requirements are communicated to the logistics team
Updating and managing the online portal for presentations, biographies and other documentation
Onsite management (including management of staff)
Budget management including updating budgets
Post event reporting and analysis
THE CANDIDATE
Candidates must have experience within the conference / exhibition industry and have experience of working on large scale international events, incorporating multiple streams. Experience of managing and liaising with speakers (both pre-event and onsite) is essential and ideally candidates will have managed a high volume of speakers (in excess of 100 for one event) previously. Candidates must be able to manage multiple projects concurrently and have proven capabilities in communicating with senior level stakeholders and speakers. Any knowledge of the oil and gas sector would be an added benefit but is not essential for the role. Candidates must be open to international travel.
