Job description

Are you an experienced AV Technician with a passion for live events and cutting-edge technology? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? Join a creative, collaborative production team delivering high-quality technical solutions across live, hybrid, and digital events.

  • 40-hour week (spread across 4 or 5 days)
  • Excellent work/life balance
  • Collaborative and supportive team culture
  • Opportunities for progression and training

The Company

This well-established event production company is known for delivering innovative and seamless technical solutions across live, hybrid, and digital events. With decades of experience in event, installation, and film production, the business is built on technical excellence, creativity, and reliability.

You'll be joining a passionate and close-knit team that values collaboration, curiosity, and personal development. Many of our best people have progressed through our in-house mentoring and training programmes - this is a place where talent grows.

The Role

As an AV Technician, you'll be at the heart of event delivery - setting up, operating, and de-rigging audio-visual, lighting, and staging systems for a wide variety of live events. You'll work closely with Project Managers, fellow technicians, and clients to ensure every event runs smoothly, safely, and to the highest standard.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Event setup and operation

Preparing, testing, and maintaining AV equipment before events

Rigging and operating sound, video, and lighting systems on-site

Assisting with staging, power distribution, and cabling as required

Operating equipment during live shows, ensuring seamless delivery

Technical support

Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues quickly and efficiently

Carrying out post-event checks and maintenance of equipment

Ensuring kit is stored, transported, and maintained to company standards

Collaboration and safety

Working closely with Project Managers and Senior Technicians to meet client requirements

Following H&S procedures and ensuring safe working practices during rig, live, and de-rig

Providing excellent customer service and representing the company professionally on-site

The Candidate

We're looking for a hands-on AV Technician with experience working on live events or within an AV rental/production environment. You'll have a solid understanding of technical systems, a practical mindset, and the ability to work under pressure while keeping a cool head.

Ideal skills and attributes include:

Good working knowledge of audio, video, and lighting equipment

Experience with live event rigging and operation

Ability to fault-find and resolve technical issues quickly

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Attention to detail and commitment to quality

Full UK driving licence (required)

Flexibility to travel and occasional overnight stays may be required depending on event schedules.

What You'll Get

  • Competitive salary and overtime opportunities
  • 28 days holiday (including bank holidays)
  • Company pension scheme
  • Health and wellbeing support via Employee Assistance Programme
  • Ongoing professional development and technical training

If you're an AV Technician looking to join a forward-thinking, supportive production company with exciting projects and a great team culture - we'd love to hear from you.
