They pride themselves on providing a professional, client-focused service, helping organisations maximise the potential of the space through bespoke event solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a high-capacity, in-demand venue as an Events Business Development Manager, driving sales growth, securing new business, and building long-term client relationships in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

The Role:

The Venue Sales and Events Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth and maximising the earning potential of the venue by securing new business, developing long-term client relationships, and delivering exceptional event experiences. The role combines proactive business development with strategic account management to ensure strong pipeline conversion, repeat bookings, and long-term profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

•        Work with the Head of Events to develop and deliver a proactive sales strategy to grow venue revenue, explore new markets, and maximise space utilisation.

•        Proactively identify and convert new business opportunities across exhibitions, conferences, hospitality, meetings, and experiential events.

•        Build and maintain strong relationships with corporates, agencies, associations, and local business networks to drive awareness and bookings.

•        Manage key accounts and lead the rebook process to maximise repeat business and client loyalty.

•        Be the face of the venue and represent the brand at networking events, client meetings, and industry showcases, strengthening the venue’s market profile.

•        Proactively and reactively prepare and present tailored proposals, pitches, and contracts, ensuring commercial viability and competitive positioning.

•        Organise FAM trips and work collaboratively with internal teams (Facilities, Catering, Marketing, IT, Finance) to ensure smooth event delivery and a seamless client journey.

•        Provide accurate sales forecasting, pipeline reporting, and performance insights to the Head of Events.

•        Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and client insights to inform sales strategies and maximise growth opportunities.

•        Contribute to the development of the annual events calendar and provide support with trade show schedules.

•        Provide accurate and timely reporting on sales activity, and ROI for all sales efforts.

•        Undertake any other duties that may be required by the company as an Events Business Development Manager.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in proactive sales and business development, ideally within the venue, event, or hospitality sectors. You will be a confident leader with strong commercial awareness, capable of managing budgets, delivering against revenue targets, and providing strategic direction to a team.

You should be a natural networker, able to build lasting relationships with clients, agencies, and internal stakeholders. A results-driven and resilient mindset is key, alongside strong negotiation and closing skills. You will also be creative and client-focused, able to design bespoke event solutions and consistently deliver exceptional experiences as an Events Business Development Manager.

Essential Skills include:

•        Excellent organisation, multitasking, and time management, thriving in a fast-paced environment

•        Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

•        Leadership ability to motivate and guide a team while driving improvements

•        Ability to interpret consumer insights, market trends, and key event KPIs

•        Attention to detail with an assertive, confident, and personable approach

•        IT literate: Microsoft Office, CRM or Event Management systems; experience with Momentus/Ungerboeck is desirable

•        Full driving license essential

In return, the client offers a competitive salary with performance-related bonus opportunities, generous annual leave including options to purchase extra days and birthday leave, and a flexible hybrid working schedule to support work-life balance. You’ll also benefit from pension contributions, a comprehensive wellbeing programme, opportunities for professional development and career progression, access to staff discounts and onsite facilities, and a supportive, inclusive team culture focused on collaboration and high standards.
