The Company

A large-scale, mass participation event company is a Social Impact organisation whose events arm is owned by a foundation, focusing on mass participation sporting events, primarily running. With approximately 160 people across all functions, including events, the foundation, marketing, and culture, and 25 on the events team, you will join a passionate organisation dedicated to inspiring people to be active.

The Role

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Production Manager - Children & Young People & Communities to join the Events Experience function. This is a growth position that requires a hands-on delivery and stand-alone approach, offering the opportunity to own the full production of key events. We are looking for someone with a greenfield background who can handle the technical and community event space.

The Production Manager - Children & Young People & Communities will play a key role in the operational planning and delivery of events and initiatives that serve schools and community groups.

This involves:

  • Leading on the operational planning and delivery of school and community events, including site visits, licensing, and stakeholder liaison.
  • Producing detailed planning documentation, including CAD/Iventis plans, production schedules, and safety documentation.
  • Serving as Operations Lead for flagship events, and supporting local events
  • Supporting the development of inclusive event experiences, embedding accessibility and community needs in delivery plans.
  • Collaborating with the Children and Young People and the Community Engagement Team to offer operational guidance and logistical support.
  • Working with suppliers and internal teams on logistics, equipment, branding, and workforce planning.
  • Leading the process on impact reporting and feedback through a Social Impact lens.

 

The Candidate

Candidates should have proven experience in event production or operations, ideally within mass participation, and strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • You will be a confident, hands-on Production Manager - Children & Young People & Communities with a collaborative mindset and a genuine desire to serve and inspire. Key requirements include:Experience working with grassroots groups, schools, and diverse communities.
  • Respecting community-led leadership and maintaining collaborative relationships.
  • A clear understanding of health and safety principles, event licensing processes, and experience with safeguarding children at events.
  • Experience with project management tools and event planning software (IOSH Managing Safely qualification is desirable).
  • A passion for inclusive event delivery through a DEI lens, actively identifying and mitigating barriers to participation for underrepresented communities.
