THE ROLE


Due to continued growth they are now looking for an Overlay CAD Manager who will lead site design and technical planning for global events ensuring temporary infrastructure and operational layouts meet standards. This is a fast-paced, technically demanding role requiring CAD expertise and temporary event overlay experience ensuring layouts account for build phases, emergency planning, crowd flow, access, utilities, and operational efficiency.

As Overlay CAD Manager your key responsibilities will include to:

  • Develop detailed site layouts and CAD plans covering all operational and guest-facing areas including but not limited to stadiums, grandstands, hospitality spaces and temporary structures - plans must include build phases and emergency planning routes
  • Create integrated venue designs suitable for global and local suppliers and contractors
  • Review and adjust specifications as needed and during live meetings as required
  • Work closely with the internal infrastructure team to deliver temporary event infrastructure
  • Ensure all structural and technical requirements for specialist teams are met (e.g., broadcast, hospitality, partner installations)
  • Lead site readiness assessments, pre-build works, and pre-event inspections
  • Uphold health & safety compliance across all installation and operational phases
  • Maintain accurate documentation, version control, and technical records
  • Support on-site issue resolution to maintain project progress

THE CANDIDATE


Candidates should have proven experience in venue design, overlay planning and site management for major live events including greenfield sites. You will have strong competency in AutoCAD and Vectorworks as well as knowledge of site feasibility and surveying practices. You will also have knowledge of risk management and H&S management systems. This is a fast paced role where you will be required to produce in excess of 60 drawings annually and update drawings in real time so speed in addition to attention to detail is essential.
