This major events and venues organisation is renowned for hosting an enviable list of international and national events, from concerts and exhibitions to sporting fixtures.

The Role

Due to the continuous delivery of a dynamic event schedule, they are now looking for a Stage Manager to join their expert Event Services team on an 18 month fixed term contract. This role is central to the preparation and delivery of all event and non-event technical services, focusing on resource deployment and operational standards across all sites.

Shift work, including night work, is an expected requirement of this role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the central point of contact for technical event operations, liaising with internal teams, external partners, and clients.
  • Managing and developing Stage Technicians and casual/agency staff, ensuring performance standards are maintained.
  • Overseeing the scheduling of people and resources, considering financial and customer implications.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and legislative requirements.
  • Maintaining operational standards for staging, rigging, lighting, sound, and AV systems.

 

The Candidate

Candidates should have significant practical experience in a similar role within a venue or theatre setting.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable staging knowledge and practical experience of all aspects of technical services. Crucially, this includes a strong working knowledge of retractable seating systems and seat tribunes (Concert Staging systems).

You will also need:

A good understanding of Rigging requirements and operations.

Excellent communication and resource management skills with a proven track track record of supervising staff and controlling costs.

Experience of working anti-social hours in a fast-paced environment.
