The Role


As part of continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced and versatile Event Technician (Lighting) to deliver exceptional lighting production across live, virtual, and hybrid events. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where quality, creativity, and teamwork are key.

The Event Technician (Lighting) will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest technical standards on every project, contributing to the delivery of outstanding event experiences. This opportunity is ideal for a proactive Event Technician (Lighting) who thrives under pressure and enjoys working within a collaborative and supportive technical team.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the technical team delivering high-quality lighting production across a wide range of events.
  • Design, set up, program, and operate lighting systems for corporate and live productions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, producers, and creative teams to realise the artistic and technical vision for each event.
  • Adapt lighting designs to suit different venues and event formats.
  • Program and operate industry-standard lighting consoles (e.g., GrandMA, Avolites).
    Maintain, test, and troubleshoot lighting equipment.
  • Lead and supervise freelance crew on-site when required.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, venue staff, and internal teams.
  • Prepare, maintain, and manage equipment within warehouse facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians and assistants.
  • Stay current with emerging lighting technologies and innovations.
  • Deliver and collect equipment using company vehicles.
  • Support other technical departments as required to meet business needs.

The Candidate

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a lighting engineer within the live events industry, ideally within the corporate sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of DMX protocols, networking, intelligent fixtures, and LED technology.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD light plots.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional and polished personal presentation.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to lead by example.
  • Customer-focused with a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in equipment presentation.
  • Full UK Driving License and own transport.
  • Physical Requirements - Ability to lift and carry up to 25kg.
  • Comfortable working at height and in low-light environments.
  • Manual dexterity for operating technical equipment and handling small components.
