THE COMPANY

This creative technical production company are currently in an exciting phase of growth and expansion. they recently moved into a brand-new warehouse, invested heavily in new equipment, and are building our in-house projects team across all disciplines and are mow looking for a Junior Project Manager

They work with a wide range of clients, delivering everything from festivals and exhibitions to ice rinks and award shows. Their portfolio is as diverse as it is dynamic, and we're passionate about producing exceptional live event experiences.

 

 

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Junior Project Manager to join our growing projects team. This role is projects-based, requiring work in the office, warehouse, and on-site as required, with an option for home-working where appropriate.

The Junior Project Manager will act as a client-facing representative of the company, assisting in the management of projects of varying sizes. The successful candidate will need to manage their own time and workload effectively and be confident in delivering projects from start to finish.

As a small company in a growth phase, we require a Junior Project Manager who is proactive, works well both independently and collaboratively, and is willing to support all aspects of the company workload, even if it occasionally falls outside normal duties. The role involves manual handling and customer-facing activities, so strong interpersonal skills, good personal hygiene, and a hardworking ethos are essential. Passion for live events and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and long days is also required.

This role operates on a 'time off in lieu' system, which will be largely self-managed around the JNR Project Manager's calendar of events.

 

 

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal Junior event project manager will have:

Managing onsite project delivery, leading teams of both internal and external staff and contractors.

Handling client briefs and communications, either in collaboration with account/project managers or independently.

Assisting in the specification of equipment lists for each project.

Managing, or assisting in managing, budgets for each project, including external costs.

Sourcing equipment from external suppliers where required.

Creating project-specific documentation, focusing on logistics and crewing requirements.

Coordinating and sourcing a team of engineers, prioritising them across multiple projects, including external freelancers and local labour

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sound, lighting, video, and staging solutions. They will have experience in both B2B and B2C communications, as well as a proven track record in delivering projects successfully.

Previous experience managing skilled teams within a production environment is essential, along with a minimum of three years' experience in the events industry. Local industry knowledge, including established freelance and sub-hire connections, is highly desirable. The candidate must be physically fit and capable of heavy lifting, while also being a strong team player who can work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

 A proactive and self-motivated approach, combined with a thorough attention to detail, is required. The candidate must be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines consistently. Excellent customer service skills, with a desire to exceed expectations, are essential. A full UK driving license is also required.
