The Role:
There is now an opportunity to join the events team as Senior Event Manager (on a 12-month maternity contract) where you will lead in the delivery of a diverse portfolio of large-scale events including exhibitions, conferences, trade and consumer shows, live experiences, and sporting competitions. This is a senior role within the team where you will be expected to lead by example and provide a strategic perspective working closely with the Head of Event Management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting high standards in communication, stakeholder engagement, and delivery
- Acting as the lead point of contact for a portfolio of complex events
- End-to-end planning and delivery of events
- Leading client planning meetings and site visits
- Overseeing event set up, live delivery, and breakdown
- Oversight of event documentation including health & safety compliance
- Senior point of contact for high-profile clients
- Building long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Key internal and external stakeholder management
- Financial responsibility and budget oversight for events
- Line management and mentoring of junior team members
- Providing strategic direction to the events department and contributing to continuous improvement
The Candidate:
This role is ideal for an experienced Senior Event Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, manages multiple events concurrently, and has a proven track record of delivering large-scale events end to end with attention to detail and operational excellence.
To be successful as a Senior Event Manager, you will be used to delivering large-scale events end to end at a senior level, whether in a venue, organiser, association, or agency environment. As a Senior Event Manager You will be a confident leader, able to inspire and motivate your team, and you will have a commercially minded approach, balancing client needs with financial and operational objectives.
You will bring:
- Proven experience managing complex, high-profile events from concept to delivery
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build long-term client relationships
- As a Senior Event Manager you will have operational excellence with meticulous attention to detail
- A strategic mindset, able to provide guidance and shape the development of the events function
- The ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
