THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has opened for an Events Technical Specialist – Lighting to take ownership of lighting design, operation and onsite supervision across a wide range of events. This is a hands‑on role requiring both creative and technical expertise. From console programming and fixture maintenance to leading onsite lighting teams, you will be central to delivering polished, reliable and visually impressive lighting setups.

Working closely with production, design and technical teams, you’ll support pre‑production preparation, ensure lighting plots and documentation are accurate, and play a major role in delivering smooth, professional show experiences.

Key Responsibilities as Events Technical Specialist – Lighting include:

• Operating modern lighting consoles (Avolites, ETC Eos or MA families) across large‑scale events.
• Supporting fixture maintenance, troubleshooting and equipment preparation.
• Working with CAD and visualisation tools such as Vectorworks, Capture, Wysiwyg or AutoCAD.
• Supervising crews on site, leading lighting teams through setup, rehearsals and live shows.
• Interpreting lighting plans and working with production partners and designers to achieve creative intent.
• Ensuring safe rigging practices, compliance with power and DMX/networking standards, and adherence to H&S requirements.

THE CANDIDATE

This role is ideal for a technically confident, proactive Events Technical Specialist – Lighting with experience across corporate or live events. You’ll bring strong console knowledge, an eye for detail and the ability to lead teams on site. You thrive under pressure, problem‑solve quickly, and communicate well with designers, producers and project managers.

You’ll be comfortable working at height, familiar with rigging best practices and excited about continually developing your technical skills. A positive attitude, flexibility around working hours, and confidence in fast‑paced environments are essential.
